Moot courts are open to second- and third-year day and evening students. Students apply in the fall to participate in one or more moot courts. The faculty consider each student's written application, writing sample, GPA, experience in the subject matter of the moot, and an oral advocacy performance before a panel of judges.

Juris Doctor Program Moot Court Moot Court Moot courts give law students opportunities to research and litigate advanced hypothetical problems, compete with a team against other student attorneys, and receive professional feedback on their performance by peers, faculty, and the moot court itself.


Moot Court Take a Seat Office of Philanthropy St. Thomas University

The National Moot Court Competition is co-sponsored by the College and the New York City Bar Association. In addition to sharing the financial costs, many Fellows of the College assist as judges in the 15 regional competitions and at the finals held in New York each year. More than 180 accredited law schools participate in this program.

McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition (Minneapolis) and Chicago Bar Association Moot Court Competition. Prerequisites include: 91:210 Appellate Advocacy I and 91:404 Van Oosterhout-Baskerville Competition.
